Aestheticism

Thermal expansion and contraction of the glass cavity can cause surface irregularities; in the 4SG system, the elastic sealant for insulated glass effectively mitigates this effect. It enables the production of insulated glass units in a wide variety of shapes, eliminating the shape‑constraint limitations imposed by conventional rigid spacers.

Energy efficiency

Utilizing Germany’s KÖMELIN 4SG technology, a fully sealed enclosure is achieved through chemical bonding combined with silicone structural adhesive, resulting in an annual argon leakage rate of just 0.1%—one-tenth that of conventional glass—and a service life exceeding 25 years. Additionally, the [robotic 3D positioning system] delivers glue‑application accuracy of 0.1 mm—ten times better than manual application—while maintaining an annual argon leakage rate of less than 0.1%.

Security

The wind-pressure resistance of 4SG glass meets Grade 9 standards, as verified by testing in accordance with the technical specifications set forth in China’s national standard GB/T 7106‑2008. It can withstand a wind pressure of at least 9.0 kPa, which is sufficient to resist severe winds and typhoons.

Noise reduction

Argon has a density 30% greater than air, which effectively reduces the resonant effects in glass. When external sound waves arrive, insulated glass units filled with argon are less likely to resonate at frequencies similar to those of the sound, thereby minimizing sound amplification and transmission.
