Recently, Suzhou Huadong Coating Technology Co., Ltd. has once again successfully obtained Jiangsu Province’s high‑tech enterprise certification. A high‑tech enterprise is one that operates in a key national high‑tech sector, demonstrates strong technological innovation capabilities, maintains a robust system for translating scientific and technological achievements into practical applications, and meets prescribed standards for R&D investment and the proportion of R&D personnel. This certification represents a nationally recognized endorsement of a company’s innovative strength, and this latest designation adds another prestigious accolade to the legacy of this long‑standing state‑owned enterprise. Established in 1993 as a wholly state‑owned entity, Huadong Coating has consistently aligned itself with high‑tech accreditation criteria, focusing on technological breakthroughs and performance enhancement. The company has continuously increased its R&D spending, refined its innovation framework, and developed a growth model that aligns with industry trends and policy requirements.

 

 

                                   

In terms of building an innovation system, Huadong Coating was successfully accredited as a Jiangsu Provincial Enterprise Technology Center in 2021, strengthening its R&D and innovation platform, establishing a dedicated R&D team, and focusing on technological breakthroughs in energy-saving and safety‑related glass products. At the same time, Huadong Coating has continuously refined its compliance management and quality‑control systems, obtaining certification under four core standards, including ISO 9001, as well as multiple international accreditations such as the CFP carbon‑footprint green certification, thereby solidifying the foundations of compliant operations and product quality and laying a robust groundwork for applying to become a high‑tech enterprise.

In terms of technological upgrades and capacity optimization, Huadong Coating has steadily increased its investment in hardware: in 2012, it introduced a coating production line from Germany’s Adenauer; in 2022, it brought in a third-generation thermoplastic spacer (TPS) warm-edge sealed insulating glass production line from Germany; and in May 2024, it commissioned an intelligent, digitalized “three-cut, four-grind, two-steel” production line. With its scale and processing capabilities ranking among the top in the domestic industry, this state-of-the-art facility has significantly boosted production efficiency and product precision while reducing energy consumption and costs. In the same year, it was recognized as a Jiangsu Province Smart Manufacturing Workshop.

In terms of product innovation, Huadong Coating has successfully developed a full range of high-end products, including solar-control coated glass, Low‑E glass, and long‑life sealed 4SG insulated glass. Notably, its 4SG insulated glass boasts a 25‑year leak‑free warranty, while its long‑life sealed 4SG louvered insulated glass has been granted a national invention patent.

In addition, in 2022, Huadong Coating obtained one of the first green building material product certifications in the glass deep-processing sector in East China; in 2024, it was recognized as a municipal-level (3A) Green Factory in Suzhou; and in 2025, it was shortlisted as a provincial-level Green Factory in Jiangsu Province, progressively achieving mutual empowerment between innovation and green development.

This recognition represents a comprehensive acknowledgment of East China Coating’s sustained investment in innovation and its groundbreaking technological advances over recent years.
