Huadong Coating Participates in the Special Forum of the 7th Academic Annual Conference on Building Renovation and Urban Regeneration

From October 27 to 29, 2025, the 7th Annual Academic Conference on Architectural Renovation and Urban Regeneration was grandly held in Shanghai. As a specialized entity in the field of advanced glass processing, East China Coated Glass was invited to participate in the conference’s thematic forum, “Contemporary Resonance Between Skin Ecology and Regional Spirit,” where it focused in depth on cutting-edge developments in the realm of architectural envelopes.

The agenda of this specialized forum strikes a balance between professionalism and practicality. In the first half, industry experts—including Bo Hongtao, Director and Chief Designer at Hangzhou Zhonglian Zhujing Architectural Design Co., Ltd., Chairman of the Royal Institute of British Architects’ China Chapter, and Executive Committee Member of the Architectural Renovation and Urban Regeneration Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China; Mou Yonglai, Deputy Chief Engineer at Shanghai Construction Decoration Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and Chief Engineer of its Curtain Wall Division; Jin Ying, Deputy Director of the Specialized Technology Division and Director of the Architectural Curtain Wall Institute at Tongji University Architectural Design Institute (Group) Co., Ltd.; and Qian Xinyu, Dean of the Curtain Wall Design Research Institute at Suzhou Jinmanglang Curtain Wall Co., Ltd.—each presented on topics such as “Material Expression in Historic Contexts,” “Exploration and Practice in the Art of Constructing Unconventional Architectural Envelopes,” “Bamboo Leaves as Form, Landscapes as Soul: A Symbiotic Approach to Regional Identity and Ecological Envelope in the Curtain Wall Design of the Anji Cultural and Arts Center,” and “Design Applications of Prefabricated, Modular Curtain Wall Technology in the Retrofit of Existing Building Facades.” Through these presentations, they examined innovative directions for architectural envelopes from the perspectives of material expression and construction art.

In the second half, guests including Wang Zhaodong, Chairman of Nanjing Zhujian New Technology Group Co., Ltd.; Qi Bin, Chief Architect of Tsinghua University Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Standing Committee Member of the Architectural Renovation and Urban Regeneration Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China; Meng Genbaoligao, Head of the Curtain Wall Design Division I at the Specialized Design Center of Huajian Group East China Architectural Design Institute Co., Ltd. and Chief Engineer; and Wang Chao, Deputy Director of the Architectural Curtain Wall and Doors & Windows Technology Research Center at China Construction Research Technology Co., Ltd., delivered thematic presentations on topics such as the exploration of metal‑based cultural architecture and the construction of skin‑based spatial systems. The forum comprehensively addressed key areas including the application of architectural skin materials, technological innovation, and the integration of regional cultures—themes that align closely with the use cases of coated glass in building envelopes. Huang Qi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Architectural Renovation and Urban Regeneration Professional Committee of the Architectural Society of China, attentively listened to the experts’ presentations and concluded the proceedings of this sub‑forum.
